Attention Home Energy Assistance (HEA) Applicants for the 2021-2022 Season

Submit your HEA or Emergency Assistance Application by Thursday, June 30, 2022

Please submit your HEA or emergency assistance application by Thursday, June 30, 2022, to receive assistance during the 2021-2022 season.

Due to the high volume of phone calls to PRAB, you may experience delays in response to phone messages left regarding your HEA or Emergency Assistance. As a result, you may wish to submit your application and supporting documents in one of the following two ways:

Please note that we process HEA and emergency assistance applications in the order they are received, so submit your application as quickly as possible. If you currently have a shut-off notice, please submit it to receive additional assistance.

If you have utility bill balances of at least $300, you qualify for Emergency assistance. Once you have applied, (1) immediately contact your utility company’s collection department and (2) advise them that you have applied for home energy assistance through PRAB. This will protect your account from being shut off for up to 90 days.

If you received a second Recertification Form during the 2021-2022 Season

If you received a second recertification form during the 2021-2022 season, and you had already applied for home energy assistance during the 2021-2022 season, please disregard this second recertification form and wait to recertify starting on October 1, 2022. If you have not applied during this season, please do so as soon as possible to allow time to process your application before June 30, 2022.

Thank you for your patience,

HEA Team
